Firefighters are battling a massive fire in an apartment high-rise in London that has left a number of fatalities.
Commissioner Dany Cotton called the fire an “unprecedented incident” and said she has never seen anything on this scale in her 29-year career. She said firefighters are still working and she can’t say how many people may have died. At least 30 people have been taken to hospitals.
Police said earlier that they were continuing to evacuate people from the apartment building Wednesday morning.
Forty fire engines and 200 firefighters had been called to the scene early Wednesday.
